Publication 3: as an advisor to the Ambassador of Angola to South Korea

National Assembly Speaker, Moon Hee-sang Moon, received a visit from Angola Ambassador to South Korea, Albino Malungo

On the afternoon of March 14th, the Korean National Assembly Speaker, Moon Hee-sang, received a visit from Angola’s Ambassador to South Korea, Albino Malungo, in the office of the National Assembly Speaker.At this meeting, the Korean National Assembly Speaker, Hee-sang Moon, said, “I think that both Korea and Angola share similar historical experiences such as colonialism, civil war, and economic growth, so that mutual understanding is broad.” Mr. Moon also said, “We look forward to further developing complementary relationships so that we can win-win with each other in various fields.”

The Korean National Assembly Speaker, Mr. Hee-sang Moon, continued, “I heard that you will be relocating to the United Arab Emirates after your long term in Korea this year.”He said, “Thank you for the hard work you have made for the development of bilateral relations, and I hope you don’t forget the Republic of Korea even when you go to the UAE.”

The Angolan Ambassador to Korea, Albino Malungo, said, “Korea is a country that inspires a lot and will be the best partner to other African countries as well.” He also replied, “I hope that Korea will continue to actively support Angola as it moves toward a new path in the future.”In addition, the Ambassador Malungo said, “The current President of Angola, formerly the Minister of Defense, has a lot of interest in Korea-Angola defense cooperation.In 2017, the “Korea-Angola Defense Cooperation MOU” was signed, and the two countries’ relations became closer, as delegations of the two countries visited each other.” Mr. Malungo continued to say, “I ask for close cooperation between Korea and Angola in the fields of economy, trade, education, and culture in the future.”

Representative Lee Hye-hoon (Chairman of the Korea-Angola National Assembly Member Friendship Association), Park Soo-Hyun, Secretary of the National Assembly Chairman, Yoon Chang-Hwan, Policy Chief, Han Choong-hee, Special Ambassador for Foreign Affairs, and International Affairs Director Park Jae-yu, were present.
